I am interested in the biology of arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (AMF) and its application to improving plant establishment and development in the natural environment. Most of my research is on the role of AMF in abiotic stress and the effect of soil management on the propagation and distribution of AMF. I am an Associated Editor for ABB since January 2012. I was Professor in the Departamento de Micologia – UFPE, from 2004 to 2006, since July 2006 I have been Professor of Microbiology at the UNIVASF. Nowadays, I am a member of the Advisory Committee of the Facepe. Besides working, I enjoy the company of my family and friends, and sharing good conversation over home cooked meals.
