I am a Professor in the Department of Botany and on the Plant Biology postgraduate course at UFPE. I am interested in understanding biodiversity’s evolution, focusing on tropical lineages of vascular spore-bearing plants. I employ integrative approaches, using the full spectrum of tools from fieldwork through genomics, including phylogenetics, morphometrics, near-infrared spectroscopy, and environmental niche modeling, to understand phenotypic evolution and geographical and historical patterns and processes.
