I am currently a Professor of Systematic Botany and Biogeography at Universidade Federal da Paraíba, in João Pessoa, PB, Brazil. I also act as a permanent professor on the following graduate courses: Botany (INPA) and Biodiversity (UFPB). My main research interest lies in the fields of systematics and evolution, where I apply multiple approaches, from molecular biology to physiology and macromorphology, to tackle questions underlying taxonomy, diversification, geographical organization of plant biodiversity and morphological disparity, with a special focus in neotropical biomes. My research is focused on neglected lineages within eudicots, including Clusiacae, Dilleniaceae, Nyctaginaceae, and Solanaceae.
