My research field is ecology and morphological and molecular taxonomy of macroscopic Basidiomycota. Our team is trying to understand how diverse and how this group of fungi is distributed in space and time in Brazil. Besides Basidiomycota, I also teach Bioethics in UFPE and, occasionally, Lichens and Fungi of Economical and Ecological Importance. As field biologist, I love travelling to be in contact with nature, not only for work, but for leisure and to remember how little we know and how much we have to do.

When authors publish in Acta Botanica Brasilica they receive additional benefits:

  • In partnership with SciELO we provide our articles free to readers (open access);
  • Our open access papers are more likely to be cited;
  • There is no cost for publication for SBB members;
  • The efficiency of our evaluation process will surprise you (averaging less than 60 days);
  • We are indexed in the major databases such as Web of Science/Clarivate Analytics, Biological Abstracts, Scopus and others.
