I earned my Ph.D. from the Federal University of Pernambuco in 2001, with a research internship at the Ethnobotany Laboratory of the National Autonomous University of Mexico under the supervision of Dr. Javier Caballero. I served as a professor at the Federal Rural University of Pernambuco until April 2017, where I founded and coordinated the Laboratory of Ecology and Evolution of Socioecological Systems (LEA). Currently, I am a full professor at the Center for Biosciences at the Federal University of Pernambuco and serve as a counselor (2024-2028) for the Latin American Association of Evolutionary Behavioral Sciences, of which I am a founding member. With a broad interdisciplinary background, I have expertise and interests in neuroscience and behavior, clinical neuropsychoanalysis, neuropsychopedagogy, philosophical counseling, and clinical psychoanalysis.
